Abstract

552,689. Spray producers. ANDREWS, F. S. C. Nov. 3, 1941, No. 14140. [Class 69 (iii)] In a spray producer a block of glass &c. adapted to be fitted into a suitable liquid container such as container 4 is provided with liquid passages 3 opening at the lower end in the liquid and communicating at the upper end by transverse passages 12 with an air passage 6 above the surface of the liquid. As shown the liquid passages 3 are formed by means of flutes or recesses in the outer surface of a block 1 and are closed to form passages by means of a sleeve 2 the upper end of the block 1 having an enlarged part having passages providing the continuation of the flutes and also transverse passages 12 connecting the liquid passages 3 with a restricted part of the air passage 6. A cap 5 fits on the upper end of the block 1 and is provided with a passage 15 in continuation of the restricted air passage and forming a passage for the atomized liquid. As shown the transverse and liquid passages terminate in the outer surface of the upper end of the block to facilitate cleaning. The cap 5 is provided with a concave portion to direct the spray outwards. The lower end 7 of the block is of reduced diameter and serves to position and hold in place the block by means of a washer 10 and screwed plug 11. A tube 8 and bulb 9 are provided.
