Abstract

145,320. Babcock & Wilcox, and Spyer, A. Oct. 7, 1919. Nozzles for producing whirling sprays.-A fueldistributing device comprises a barrel 1 with a cap 2 having a central orifice. Behind the cap is a distributing-plate 5 with tangential slots communicating with a central orifice. Behind the distributing-plate is a diaphragm 7 having an annular recess 8 and holes 9, which communicate with the barrel. The fuel passes up the barrel through the holes 9, and has a whirling or gyratory motion imparted to it by passage along the tangential slots 6 into the orifice.
