Jet nozzles; annular sheets; jets with regulable orifices.-A device particularly for spraying ash and clinker hoppers with water, of the kind comprising a tubular casing c adapted to be connected to a water-supply pipe a and having a longitudinally grooved plunger d adjustably held therein to control the size of a passage x between the end of the casing c and the enlarged head g of the plunger, has a conical recess i formed in the head g and communicating with the water space through tangential passages j, so that the device, in addition to giving an adjustable annular sheet spray, produces a secondary whirling spray of smaller radius. The passages j may be blocked when only one spray is desired. A filter tube k surrounded by wine gauze l may be fitted to the inlet end of the tube c.
