Abstract
168,472. Russell, W. A., and Manchester Furnaces, Ltd. July 2, 1920. Air and steam pressure sprayers; nozzles for producing whirling sprays. - The body a of a liquid fuel burner is formed with three threaded apertures b, c, d, two b, c, in line with one another, receiving respectively an oil nozzle e and a sprayer nozzle f, and the third d at rightangles to the apertures b, c receiving the air or steam connection. The sprayer nozzle f is partly cylindrical and partly conical, and spiral grooves g, preferably V-shaped, extend internally from the cylindrical part to adjacent the end of the conical part. The fuel supply fitting i screws on the oil nozzle e and carries a stuffing-box j for a control spindle m. The spindle m carries the usual handle k and is guided in the oil nozzle e by legs h.
