Abstract
375,569. Liquid-fuel burners. PAGANINI, A., 15, Viale della Vittoria, Sestri, Genoa, Italy. July 14, 1931, No. 20234. [Class 75 (i).] An oil burner spraying nozzle comprises two parts only, viz. a shell A bored internally to provide a bottom enlarged chamber 1, a middle cylindrical space 2, and an upper ogival space 3 terminating in a spraying aperture G, and a core C fitting the shell consisting of a base-plate B formed with inclined passages F, a hollowed-out neck portion D, a helically grooved portion E and a rounded or frusto-conical upper portion. The passages F are substantially tangential to the neck portion D and are preferably of greater inclination than but in the same direction as the helical threads of the portion E. When the fuel is to be atomized by steam or compressed air the core C is bored axially and the aperture G is flared outwardly. Preferably the fuel is fed through the passages F and the steam through the axial'bore but the fuel may be fed at low pressure through the axial bore and the steam through the passages F.
