Abstract

152,067. Ditchburn, C. July 5, 1919. Nozzles for producing whirling sprays. - A sprayer for atomizing liquid fuel &c. comprises a socket a, Fig. 1, in which is screwed an internally bored set-screw b, Figs. 1 and 2, within which is mounted a helically grooved member d, the grooves of which may be of varying pitch. The end of the set-screw is closed by a grub-screw g having grooves g<1> through which the liquid passes to the grooves on the member d, additional passages for the liquid being formed at h so that liquid impinges against the member d in different directions so as to disintegrate the liquid. The upper end of the passage e is coned to form an atomizing nozzle f.
