Abstract

29,037. Young, J. Dec. 17. Nozzles for producing whirling sprays.-A spraying-nozzle suitable for liquid-fuel burners and nozzles for introducing fuel into internalcombustion engines comprises a block a secured in place by a screw cap and provided with a whirl chamber having a curved basal portion and a central cone portion g, the entry to this whirl chamber being formed by forwardly inclined tangential passages f. The entry to these tangential passages may be controlled by a sleeve d operated by a hand-wheel. The whirl . chamber may be formed either wholly in the block a, or partly in the block and partly in the cap, or as in Figs. 5 and 7 with the outer surface of whirl chamber formed in the cap. In Fig. 7 the coned portion is shown with curved sides.
