Abstract

147,953. Balthasar, A. June 14, 1918, [Convention date]. Air and gas pressure sprayers.-To obtain intimate contact between a liquid and a gas, for instance to effect the vaporization or cooling of the liquid, a spray-producing jet 1, through which the liquid is forced, is surrounded by a cylinder 3 provided with holes 4 for the admission of air or gas. The quantity of air or gas drawn in may be regulated by rotating the cylinder 3, so that lateral projections on the jet partly cover the holes 4 in the cylinder; the cylinder may also be raised or lowered relatively to the jet. A nozzle producing a whirling spray may be employed.
