Abstract

383,768. Spray-producers. LEMOINE, H. G., 1A, Buissionniere, near Perrers-sur- Andelle, Eure, France. Dec. 19, 1931, No. 35208. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1930. [Class 69 (iii).] A paint sprayer of the kind in which the needle valve 17 which regulates the liquid nozzle 40 is provided with an axial passage for atomizing air is provided with a rotatable head 45 carrying flattening jets 48, the friction between which and the spray head is regulated by adjusting the packing in a stuffing-box 50 which ensures gastightness. The flattening jets are regulated by needle valves 49. The spray head 1a is mounted on a liquid container 34 and detachably connected to a handle member 1 by a screw collar 26, correct registration being ensured by pins 24 on the handle member 1 engaging recesses on the member 1a. The valve 17 is operated by a trigger 13 against the action of a spring 22, the tension of which is adjusted by a screw sleeve 21. The travel of the trigger is limited by an adjustable stop 23. The trigger also operates an air valve 6 to admit air from a side passage to the space 27 where it passes to the passage in the needle 17 and also through a valved passage 29 to the liquid vessel 34, which may be regulated by adjusting the screw 31. Air passages are also provided which lead to grooves on the exterior of the nozzle 40 to assist in atomization and also from thence through the valved passages 47 to the flattening jets 48, an expansion chamber being formed behind them of greater area than the orifices.
