Abstract

202,136. Cooper, R., and Champion, CJuly 12, 1922. Spray burners.-A spray burner comprises an outer tubular casing a, a<1> having a connection a<2> to a steam supply pipe i<3>, a sinuous, corrugated, or indented copper inner tube c connected to an oil supply pipe g<3>, a nozzle d screwing on the tube c and formed with convergent steam orifices d<3> and oil orifices d<1>, and a cap e securing the nozzle to the casing a, a<1>. The orifices d<1> terminate in a recess d<2> in the outer face of the nozzle. A spirally-grooved conical disperser j may be secured in the recess d<2>. The steam and oil enter the burner through filters i<2>, g<2>. A drain cock k for condensation water is provided. The Provisional Specification states that the nozzle and cap are of copper.
