Abstract

185,536. Chisholm, A. H. June 16. 1921. Air and steam pressure sprayers.-In a liquidfuel burner, a nipple B delivers steam or air into the bulbous end C of a pipe D to atomize oil supplied through a pipe F at an angle to the steam or air current. The atomized mixture issues into the furnace through a nozzle G. A tube H surrounding the pipe D is provided with branched air inlets I, through one of which hot furnace gases may be drawn. The bulbous end C may have perforations E to allow air and furnace gases to be drawn into the pipe D. The pipe D and tube H may have extension tubes L, M, the tube M screwing into the furnace plate or door N. The pipe D is supported centrally in the tube H by the nipple B at one end and by setscrews R at the other.
