Abstract

190,146. Buell, R. N. Dec. 6, 1921, [Convention, date]. Pulverulent-fuel burners.-A pulverulent-fuel burner comprising a fuel feed and Compressed air pipe a, and adjustable nozzle b, and a surrounding collar or collars h, j having coned-ends h<1>, j<1> is fitted with a perforated jet ring r through which compressed air or steam is discharged to control the spread and direction of the flame. The jet ring consists of four sections connected by valve-controlled pipes p and a distributing ring o to a supply pipe m. The jet ring r may be arranged inside the collar or the collar h. Baffles k are fitted between the collars h, j to cause the secondary air to take a zig-zag course. The nozzle b is adjusted by means of a screwed rod c through which additional air or steam may be supplied. Specification 162,270 is referred to.
