234,493. Vuillaume, C. May 20, 1924, [Convention date]. Blowpipe and subaqueous burners. - An oxyacetylene or like blowpipe burner comprises a sleeve a fitted at one end with a block b<1> carrying gas discharge nozzles e, f, g, and at the other end with a block b connected to the gas supply pipes and carrying the gas control valves c, d. The gas ducts in the block b' are connected by tubes h, i, j with the gas ducts in the block b. The acetylene passes through the control valve c and tube h to the nozzle e and burns with oxygen issuing from the nozzle f through grooves formed in the outer surface of the nozzle e. The oxygen is supplied to the nozzle f through the control valve d and tube i. Oxygen is supplied to the nozzle g for cutting purposes through a tube j fitted with a control valve m. The blowpipe may be rendered suitable for subaqueous working by providing the block b<1> with a cap n from which the water is expelled by compressed air supplied through a valve o and tube k.
