Abstract

407,237. Gaseous, liquid, and pulverulent fuel burners. SPENCER-BONECOURT, Ltd., and GREGSON, W., Babcock House, Farringdon Street, London. July 13, 1933, No. 19874. [Class 75 (i).] A gradually tapering diffuser tube 8 is pro vided with transverse rows of orifices 12 through which air, or fuel, is supplied from an outer similarly tapered casing 1 to mix with fuel, or air, passing through the tube, the orifices 12 in alternate rows being oppositely inclined. Combustion commences at the outlet 7. Liquid or pulverulent fuel is preferably passed through the tube 8, the former as a spray or vapour. The tube 8 is supported axially within the casing by flanges 9 and held in position by end plates 4, 5 bolted to flanges 3 on the casing.
