Abstract
521,677. Spray burners. BLYTHE, G. E. K., and FRASER, R. P. Nov. 24. 1938, No. 34269. [Class 75 (i)] ] [Also in Group XXIX] A spray burner for liquid or colloidal fuels operating on the pressure jet system is provided with means by which the fuel is caused to entrain air prior to its emergence from the nozzle. Fuel under pressure is admitted by a pipe 1 to an annular chamber 2, surrounding an externally coned tube 4 communicating with the air. The inner end of the tube 4 is located at the inlet of a venturi tube 6 formed in the block 3. The venturi tube delivers mixed fuel and air to a helical passage 11 formed in a block 7 mounted in a passage leading to a spray nozzle 14. Specification 484,602 is referred to.
