Abstract

Steam-pressure sprayers. - In a liquid-fuel burner steam issues from a central passage in a conical jet which converges to a point in tront of the steam orifice and then diverges and oil is projected into the steam jet at the apex of the cone from the outside and at a considerable angle to the cone axis. The burner shown in Fig. 1 comprises a body member 1 formed with a central steam passage 2 and a fuel passage 3. A nozzle 4 formed with an annular fuel chamber 5 and a conical atomizing-chamber 18 is screwed on the body member 1. An adjustable valve spindle 10 arranged in the passage 2 terminates in a grooved cylindrical portion 11 formed with a conical end which co-operates with a knife-edge seating 13 on the nozzle 4 to give the steam jet a conical form. In a modification a number of vanes are substituted for the cylindrical portion of the valve spindle.
