Abstract

520,052. Cartons &c. GEE, L. F. Oct. 20, 1938, No. 30301. [Class 66] A replaceable flanged cover d for a carton closured by a frangible paper or like sealing disc b is attached to the body wall by an adhesive wrapper e or a tear-off band or the like, which may be weakened and provided with a tab to enable a strip to be removed therefrom to open the carton. The carton is necked so that the flange d' of the cover lies flush with the outer layer a<SP>3</SP> of the main body wall. The lower end is closed by a sheet-metal or other bottom f, seamed to the end of the body wall.
