Capsules and like closures; frictionally-sealed lids; opening by tearing. - A metallic container or box, formed near one of its faces with a stripping band d adapted to be torn off to open the container, is provided with a face B which presents a circular portion c adapted to fit into the body beyond the stripping band d, the arrangement ensuring that the box is adequately sealed and that the face may be used as a lid after the stripping band has been torn off. The circular portion comprises either a stamping projecting from the face or a flange &c. secured to it.
