Abstract

497,892. Cans. CATT, S. G. Feb. 4, 1938, No. 3621. [Class 66] The lid 13 of a full-aperture can for varnish &c. is provided with a pouring neck or spout 16 closured by a plug stopper 18 and a dished sealing capsule 19. The lid, which is formed with an upwardly projecting flange 14, 15, stepped to engage a correspondingly stepped seating ring 11, is enclosed by a capsule or overseal 20 turned under the beaded edge 12 of the can and provided with a diametricallyextending tearing strip. Means as described in Specifications 486,218 and 486,297 for facilitating removal of the lid may be provided.
