Sealing devices for closures.-A tagger disc formed with a depending rim 15 is placed in the mouth of a canister or other container and by means of downward pressure applied to the marginal edge above the rim the latter part is caused to buckle and to form on the underside of the disc a lapped or beaded edge extending wholly or in part into an undercut recess 10 provided at the junction of the vertical part of the mouth of the container and an inwardly extending ledge 9. Figs. 2, 3 show a form in which the rim 15 is inwardly inclined and the ledge sloped inwardly, Fig. 4 shows a horizontal ledge formed with a peripheral ridge 16, and Figs. 5, 6 show a rim initially perpendicular to the closure disc and a horizontal ledge formed with an annular groove 20. The mouth ring and ledge are preferably 'formed from a single piece of metal. The pressure may be applied, as shown in Fig. 3, by the insertion of the lever lid 8.
