Abstract
421,303. Cans &c. INTERNATIONAL PATENTS DEVELOPMENT CO., 17, Battery Place, New York, U.S.A. Nov. 28, 1933, No. 33284. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1932. [Class 66] The lipped pouring spout of a can, &c., is provided with a removable flanged cover 37 frictionally engaged thereover and bearing directly or indirectly on the top of the can, so serving to protect the spout from damage by pressure from above. In the construction shown in Fig. 4 the cover bears on the beaded edge 36 of a removable dished fitting 29 carrying the spout. In Fig. 5 the cover is shown as bearing on the beaded upper edge 40 of the can, the spout 41 in this case having a perforated base and being fitted into a seat 42 adapted to be perforated when required. Specification 415,780 is referred to.
