[Classes 66 and 125 (iii)] The dished lid a<SP>2</SP> of a sheet-metal can, which rests upon a seating member c' attached to the upper edge of the body by a roll or bead a<SP>1</SP>, is secured in place by a divided, flanged, sealing ring b the upper edge b' of which is inwardly flanged to rest on the flange a<SP>3</SP> of the lid, the lower edge of the ring being rolled under the bead a'. The overlapping ends of the sealing ring b are detachably secured together by a tongue-and-slot or other fastening. The flange a<SP>3</SP> of the lid may be formed with three or more depressions to facilitate the prizing up of the lid.
