Abstract

349,451. Lever-lids. KENNINGTON, J., Canister Works, Nicholson Street, Hull. Feb. 19, 1930, No. 5507. [Class 125 (iii).] Relates to lever lidded metal cans of the type in which both an outwardly extending rim on the dished lid and an annular ring at the top of the can, terminate in beadings. According to the invention the lid 15 of the can has a beading 16 which lies directly above the beading 12 on the ring and the beading on the lid is interrupted or depressed to provide recesses of short length to facilitate the insertion of an opening lever. The beading 16 may be wired.
