Abstract
366,780. Closures for tins &c. ROBINSON, F. G., Canister Works, Southcoates Lane, Hull. March 23, 1931, No. 8819. [Class 125 (iii).] Securing means for lids of lever lid tins &c., in which said lid has a central depressed portion surrounded by an upstanding rim, comprises a channel-shaped ring adapted to fit over said rim, and be secured under the flange of the tin by soldering or otherwise. The ring 1 may be split, in which case the ends may be locked or soldered together, or may be in sections, and may be weakened at one part and provided with a tag to facilitate removal. The flange 1 of the ring may be turned up to take a circumferential wire 7 which is tightened to draw the flange under the edge of the tin; the flange may be partly cut away as shown in Fig. 5. A packing ring 8 of rubber &c. may be used. A removable plug for insertion of the contents may be provided in the bottom.
