322,742. Royle, J. S., and Mellor, J. Sept. 10, 1928. Non-metallic hollow-ware; ends; bottoms.-A container A, of treated paper, initially open at one end only, has its rim A<1>, thickened as shown. A cap C, of known form, having an integral flange C', and reinforced by a circumferential strip, D, rolled and folded at D<1> and D<2> respectively, is sprung over the rim A<1>, after the coutainer has been filled, and the edges of the strip D are crimped over to form a liquid-tight joint, and a reinforced supporting rim for the container when reversed, Fig. 3, the disc portion of the cap being at the same time depressed to closely embrace the rim of the container. The flange of the cap may have an annular groove, which may be of helical form. A tag, A<2> may be provided by which an opening can be made for pouring out the contents.
