Abstract

393,024. Boxes &c. KAVLI, J. F., 42, Jelsegaten, and STOKKE, T., Hinna pr., both in Stavanger, Norway. Feb. 1, 1932, No. 2983. [Classes 66 and 125 (iii).] The rim of a tin box or like container is formed with a broad horizontal flange 9 and a lower inwardly projecting parallel flange 10 connected at their inner ends by a sub-stantially vertical cylindrical wall 11 while the flange 9 is formed at its outer edge with a vertical or very slightly inwardly converging cylindrical depending flange 4 which closes the air channel formed between the parts 9, 10, 11 and forms a resilient member with which the outer depending flange 5 of the cover 2 engages ; the cover seats on the flange 9 and has a central depressed portion which co-operates with the flange 11. In a modification the wall 11 is arranged in line with the wall 1 of the box and in a further form the flange 4 terminates in an inwardly bent edge abutting the flange 10. The box and cover are formed with beads to facilitate removal of the latter.
