Abstract

Vacuum closures.-A sheet-metal box or can of the " vacuum " type has a sealing ring, Fig. 1, disposed between the necks 2 and the inclined part 10 of the lid flange. The lower edge of the ring bears on a corrugation 3, a. second corrugation 5 serving as a support for an instrument 12 employed to lever off the lid. The sealing ring may be shaped to lie over the beaded edge 6 of the can as shown in Fig. 2.
