Abstract

101,058. Guadagnini, V. March 15, 1916. Boxes made from special blanks; lids and covers. - A metal packing-case for tin plates and other goods is formed from blanks shaped as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the blank shown in Fig. 2 being folded to form the body with outwardly projecting flanges, a<2>, b<2>, c<2>, d<2> at its mouth. The parts a'. b<1>, c<1> of the lid blank are folded over on the lines 1, 2, 3 to form channels to engage three of the mouth flanges; the lid is then slid on to the body, and the part d' is folded over on to the remaining mouth flange to secure the lid. In a modification, the lid is formed from a blank shaped as shown in Fig. 6, so that, after it is in place, the engaging parts of the lid and body may be folded down, as shown in Fig. 8.
