Boxes m a d e from special blanks; lids and covers. - A shouldered box is made by folding a blank constructed, a s shown in Fig. 1, with outwardly embossed heads D connecting shoulder flaps E to side portions B, the flaps E being slightly less in length than the portions B, and the part A being the bottom of the box. When the box is made up, the corners of the body are secured by metal pieces, as shown in Fig. 4, or by stitches, &c., and the beads D form a stop for a flanged cover. The cover may be removable, and, in some cases, beads D are provided on two opposite sides only; or the lid may be hinged, in which case a bead D is only necessary at the side opposite the hinge. The flaps E fit within the cover.
