Boxes made from special blanks; lids.-The lid c, Figs. 1 and 2 and bottom c' of a cardboard &c. box are locked in position by springing projections c<3> on tongues f, f<1> past shoulders d<5> formed by reducing the width of flaps d, d<1> folding down from opposite sides. The box is held together by wire stitches g securing an extension e to a side b<1>. The device may be used for the lid of a thin box closed at the bottom such as is used by confectioners for sponge jam sandwich &c. or for the lids and bottoms of larger boxes such as are used for cakes.
