Lids and covers; boxes made from special blanks; folding boxes.-Cardboard, paperboard, and like boxes of the kind described in Specification 4241/06, are provided with means for securing the free corners of the lid. In a non- collapsible box, the extensions a, Fig. 2, of the back wall b are cut diagonally from the hinge c and are secured at their back and bottom edges to the side walls d, thus forming pockets for the reception of the rounded corners f of the lid. In a collapsible box, the extensions i, Fig. 6, are cut as shown, and are secured by stitching, studs, or rivets, the upper securing- device r being so arranged as to allow space between the extension and the side wall p for the reception of the corner s of the lid l. The device r enters a slot n when the lid is closed.
