Abstract

342,849. Opening lever-lid tins. ROBINSON & CO. Ltd., F. and ROBINSON, F. G., Southcoates Lane, Hull. Dec. 28, 1929, No. 39634. [Class 125 (iii).] To facilitate the removal of the lever lid 5 of a tin 3, a lever 4 is disposed so that the end 1 lies in and conforms approximately to the shape of the recess in the neck-piece 2. Upon rotating the lever in a clockwise direction, the neck-piece acts as a fulcrum, and the end 1 bears upwards on the flange of the lid. In a form adapted for use with a lid with an extended flange, such as is described in Specification 341,691, the lever is modified to allow it to pass between the neck-piece and the flange. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the end 4 of the lever is disposed vertically down the outside of the tin, and the end 1 extends to the inner edge of the recess as shown, or to the bottom of the recess.
