Abstract

464,534. Closures for cans &c. TAYLOR, H. V. April 14, 1936, No. 10672. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 8, 1936.] [Class 125 (iii)] An air-tight lid for a can, drum, or like metal container comprising an indiarubber ring f housed by a flange g at the lower end of a conical rim depending from a metal or like disc, so that upon closuring the ring rides up the conical surface and is compressed between it and the cylindrical surface of the neck of the can, is provided with a hole h which permits escape of air during closuring, being covered by the ring when the lid is fully seated, and permits air to enter to facilitate opening.
