Abstract

486,218. Cans &c. CATT, S. G. Feb. 19, 1937, No. 1532. [Class 66] A wire loop, hook, or other abutment 7 secured to the upper face 8 of the lid of a full aperture can &c. is adapted to be engaged by a tool 9 bearing on the rim 3 of the container, the lid having a notch or gap, or a part 10 defined by weakenings and adapted to be turned inwardly to afford a gap, so that the tool may find a purchase on the rim of the container. In place of the abutment 7 a portion of the lid face may be weakened to define an opening through which the end of the lever can be forced to engage the undersurface of the lid.
