Abstract

396,322. Preserve tins. WAX, M. M. and VITALE, M. B., K.20, Darsena Sez., Genoa, Italy. March 4, 1933, No. 6670. [Class 66.] A tin for preserved foodstuffs is closed by a glass disc resting on a shoulder 3 and secured by turning the end 9 of the body over on to a rubber ring 4 laid on the border of the disc, so as to be level with the annular projection 7. The tin is opened by tearing from the peripheral wall above the shoulder a strip corresponding to the thickness of the disc ; after opening, the disc serves as a temporary re-closure for the tin.
