Abstract
305,371. Keyser, C. Feb. 8, 1928. Disc closures.-A closure for bottle and other containers comprises a disc scored or otherwise formed at B, Fig. 7, to provide a hinge for a movable part B<2> adapted to be moved relatively to a fixed part B' which is formed with, or has attached to its undersurface, a piece B<5> extending circumferentially beyond the scoring and adapted to make the closure engage more than half the usual recess in the bottle, an opening being provided between the wall of the container and the edge B<6> of the extended piece for the removal of all or part of the contents of the bottle. The movable portion B<2> is provided with a handle or tab B<3> and the edge B<6> of the lower portion B<5> is inwardly curved or dished. In a modification, the movable part E<2>, Fig. 10, is of greater area than the fixed part E<1>, and the edge F<2> of the lower piece adjacent the opening is so shaped as to leave a comparatively large area of the piece to be covered by the movable part E<2>. The lifting tab E<4>, is disposed at the edge of the movable part remote from the part which covers the opening.
