Abstract

483,388. Tins, bottles, &c. ROCHFORT, L. E. G., and ZOUKRA, E. G. Oct. 24, 1936, No. 28920. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 27, 1937.] [Classes 18, 66, and 125 (iii)] Lids or covers of tins, bottles, jars, &c. are provided at the underside with fulcrum projections 14, Figs. 1 and 6, which may be formed by indenting the flange and are preferably of arcuate form, disposed at opposite ends of a diameter and bearing on the upper edge of the body portion so that the lid can be tilted to facilitate removal by tapping it at an indicated point A situated between the projections. The jar cover shown in Fig. 6 is of moulded material. The lids may be of circular or square form and a third projection, disposed opposite to the point A, may be provided. Specifications 5254/08, [Class 66], and 457,248 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also constructions embodying circular lids provided with equally spaced projections, and lids of triangular shape with projections disposed midway of each of the three sides. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
