[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 20, 1934.] [Class 66] A tin &c., of which the lid is opened by being caused to tilt about fulcrum points 15 at the ends of the part 13 of the bead, is formed with the part 18 of the body disposed above the remaining portion of the bead curved inwardly to facilitate the tilting, and with an inclined circumferential lid-engaging protuberance 20 of slightly greater dimensions than the interior diameter of the lid, the amount which the protuberance projects laterally from the body of the tin varying from a maximum at the highest part 21 to a minimum at the opposite portion 22. The rim 23 of the part of the body adjacent to the lowest part of the protuberance is incurved to facilitate the reception of the edge of the lid. The invention is stated to be applicable to tins of elliptical or polygonal shape.
