[Class 66] To provide on opening a hinged or detachable lid affording a re-closure means, the part of the wall of a carton between the annular indentation 1<1> on which the flanged end cover 5 seats and the turned over body end 6 is formed with a row of perforations extending either partly or entirely around the container, a strip 3 of paper, metal or other material being disposed between the body wall and the flange 5<1> with a tongue 4 projecting through a slot disposed in the line of perforations. Opening is effected by pulling upwardly on the tongue.
