Abstract
445,661. Paper cartons. MARSHALL, C. L., 683, Broadway, Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A. July 8, 1935, No. 19432. Convention date, Oct. 5, 1934. [Class 66] The outer wall A of a double walled paper container of truncated conical shape, consisting of a rolled body blank provided with end closures, is provided with weakening lines 2, 3 defining a strip 9 the removal of which exposes the inner wallB, which is formed with a cut 5, preferably interrupted at suitable points by spaces or by weakening lines 10, disposed above the level of the upper weakening line ; the removal of the strip effects almost complete detachment of the top end closure, which is readily completely removed and is available as a cover for re-closure. The weakening lines 2, 3 which are preferably each composed of two rows of perforations arranged as at 10, are connected at the inner ends by a cut or a series of perforations 4, and a cut 13 is provided at the outer ends to afford a tab. In a modification the part 7 of the inner wall 13 above the cut 5 is omitted. In rolling the blank adhesive is omitted from the portion between the lines 2, 3 and from the part 7, the waxing &c. of the container affording a sufficient attachment.
