[Class 66] A preserve &c. tin is provided with an inner readily frangible closure member 2 of cellulosic material such as regenerated cellulose or paper, which may be coated with metal foil &c., and an outer closure 3 of metal plate, the two closures being attached by being rolled or folded into a joint with the edge of the body of the tin. The closure 3 is formed with a depressed portion 4 adapted to be cut out after the closing operation, or the boiling of the contents when this is done, the cut edge being folded back, leaving the cover 2 exposed ready for opening.
