Abstract

550,677. Boxes, tins &c. PATON, CALVERT & CO., Ltd., and PATON, W. March 10, 1942, No. 3119. [Classes 18 and 66] A box, tin, can, or like container of rigid but elastic material has a closure cap 2 with a flange overlapping the body 1 and connected thereto by a hinge 3 and the cap is secured in the closed condition by a projection or recess or slot 7 thereon or therein engaging a recess or slot or projection 8 in or on the body; the body, which is of slightly smaller diameter than the cap, can be deformed so as to disengage the parts 7, 8, the cap being then opened by hand or by a spring 4 disposed about the hinge 3. The body has a strengthening rib 9 which forms a stop for the flange of the cap.
