Abstract

511,400. Closures for bottles &c. HOPF, A. Sept. 12; 1938, No. 26525. Convention date, Aug. 5. [Class 125 (iii)] The outlet s is closed by a cap b pivoted at b2 and having housed therein a bowed leaf spring f which presses sealing material k on to the curved surface of the bottle mouth. As shown in Fig. 4 the leaf spring is flat before attachment of the cap to the bottle,. the attachment being by means of lugs on the cap which snap into recesses in the bottle neck. The curvature of the bottle mouth may be such that when the cap is moved away from the outlet s the leaf spring straightens out.
