Abstract

408,136. Pickle - jar closures. BECKER, K., 77, Wildenbruchstrasse, Oberkassel, Dusseldorf, Germany. Aug. 21, 1933, No. 23246. Convention date, Aug. 19, 1932. [Classes 125 (i) and 125 (iii).] In a pickle jar provided with a disc, which is separate from the cover closing the jar, and which keeps the solid contents thereof below the liquid contents, the disc is held in position by engaging between holding lugs above it and carrying lugs below it. As shown, the disc is provided with a handle f and has a notched periphery, the notches in which are passed over lugs a on the inside of the jar neck, the disc being then rotated. The jar neck is flared to facilitate insertion of the disc. The jar may be closed by a paper &c. cover tied in position around the groove g or by a glass cover h held by atmospheric pressure on a packing ring i.
