[Classes 66 and 125 (iii)] In a closure device for cans or like vessels, an open ring a fits tightly on to the receptacle close under the rim b thereof and clamps f or stirrups g engaging the lower rim of the ring, are adapted to hold a cover k in position. The device is particularly suitable as a reseal closure for conserve tins but may be applied to new vessels, e.g. of glass or china. The ring a is held in position on the vessel by a tension or pressure spring e or the ring itself may constitute a spring contracting by its own tension.
