Abstract

Stoppers with valves. - In a closure for bottles in which an elastic cap adapted to be pulled over the neck of the bottle is provided with a slot normally closed by the elasticity of the material of the cap but adapted to be opened by pressure, the cap comprises a chamber of elastic material provided in its outer wall with a slot d, Fig. 1, and the chamber communicates with the bottle by a conduit f adapted to be closed by pressure in the direction of the arrows, the pressure also effecting the discharge of the liquid in the chamber through the slot. The slot is lined with a tube of elastic material. In a modification the slot d, Fig. 6, is at the side of the chamber e and a projection i closes the conduit f when pressure is applied at the top of the chamber to open the slot.
