Abstract

891,071. Stoppers. CROWTHER, H. A. H. May 29, 1958, No. 31582/61. Divided out of 887,843. Class 125(3). In a flexible bag 2 for liquid enclosed in a carton 1 and provided with a closure plug 4 as described in Specification 860,129, the thin end portion 5 of the plug is provided with slits which do not allow liquid to pass but facilitate opening for discharge of the liquid and serve to release gases which may be generated in the bag, e.g. from hypochlorite solutions. The bag has a stiff neck projecting through an aperture in the carton, with a stiff flange over which an elastic skirt 6 on the plug can be sprung. The skirt can be everted to form a pouring spout.
