471,787. Lever-lids. FEAVER, Ltd., J., and WILLIAMS. S. H.' Feb. 6, 1937, No. 3628. [Class 66] A lever-lid closure 1 for cans &c. formed with stepped seating portions 5, 6, fits within a correspondingly stepped, outwardly flanged sheet-metal neck of the can, a slight clearance being preferably afforded between the steps 14, 15. A sheetmetal capsule 11, crimped over the folded edge 10 of the flange, which capsule may have a tear-out strip contiguous with a tab 12, bent up from an aperture 13 sealed at the underside, bears on the doubled edge 7 of the lid. Specification 429,156 is referred to.
