Abstract

514,457. Luminescent materials. FRANCOBRITISH ELECTRICAL CO., LTD., and BRACKENSEY, A. H. May 6, 1938, No. 13616. [Class 39 (i)] Activated zinc beryllium silicate is mixed with activated calcium tungstate to give a mixture containing 5 to 10 per cent. of calcium tungstate for an interior luminescent coating of a low pressure mercury vapour lamp. The calcium tungstate is preferably activated by lead and the zinc beryllium silicate by manganese. The two components may be ground together to give a material fluorescing white containing a fair proportion of the primary colours.
