Abstract
513,149. Lamps. MORGAN, P. KING-. July 18 1938, No. 2255/39. Divided out of 499,643. [Class 75 (ii)] A truncated conical reflector 19 having a base angle of 40-45 degrees is adapted to be supported around a light source 6 with an interposed lens system 20 for concentrating light thereon. The reflecting surface may be constituted by mirrored glass or polished metal, preferably the metal obtained and treated as described in Specifications ' 433,484; 436,154, 436,481, [both in Group XXXVI], and 440,287, and may be coloured or associated with colour filters. A bowl or other shade may be associated with the reflector. The light source may be an electric incandescent-lamp, preferably having a filament in a single plane, an electric discharge lamp, or one or more incandescent gas mantles. The lens system is constituted by a single ring element or two or more segmental portions. As shown, the reflector 19 and lens 20 are mounted in a skeleton framework 21 connected by rods 22 to an a pertured disc 10, adapted to engage with the lamp cap 11 or be secured to the lampholder.
